Here are the photos of my trip to Mt St Helens in 1989. I climbed it alone and made it up and down in one day. You can not look into the crater until the last 10 seconds of the 5 hour climb. I also had the good fortune of taking a small craft plane ride the next day around the area. It was 9 years after the initial eruption and vegetation was just beginning to raise its head again as you can see in some of the shots. I shot Ektachrome side film (200?) and scanned them on a Scitex Smart scanner years later. Spotted and color corrected in Photoshop 31 years later.
