2009 Williamsburg (Feb)

Hmm.... this is a little confusing here... got to take some notes	We were just able to find an open parking place... um... empty parking LOT. The museums are wonderful in the area.	This is the ONLY picture of the lambs that I took... (Matt and Alison Lamb joined us... I didn't take ANY photos of them)	Costumed folks punching in... or out. I prefer the "low-tourism" periods... where the enacters outnumber the tourists
One of the beautifully reconstructed buildings in historic Williamsburg (court house)	A building being rebuilt as a restoration and future restaurant using authentic period tools... and period scaffolds (right)	How are these trees managing?	I thought the house looked a lot like Kirsti's and Steve's house in Madison
And this house looks something like OURS (well, with one pair of extra windows on each side)	See, the Rockefeller Home looks just like ours... except for the snow that we left behind... well, sort of the same	This is the street view of the driveway leading to the Rockefeller estate.	And this is a view of MY driveway... note the similarities... or lack thereof. (Note: I don't have a snazzy gate.)
Oh... they have several extensions to the back... oh well, guess it's hard to keep up with the Rockefellers	And, of course, it's important to have a variety of outbuildings in back.	And a good sized area to the side for a garden.	John and Abby Rockefeller having tea (a snap from a video presentation)... just like Joan and me... with the waiting servant.
The Rockefeller caught fire... and when we reroofed OUR house it was discovered that the roof burned... ANOTHER SIMILARITY!	Williamsburg had a different look before reconstruction.	Joan and I enjoyed the walking about in Williamsburg	Checking out the local church (Episcopal)... I need one of those canopy things (that's the formal liturgical term)

Imagination is needed	ah... this helps	Now, this house looks like Kirsti's and Steve's....	And, turning to the right we have the Governer's house... just like with Kirsti and Steve
A slow car tour around the Jamestown settlement area had this interesting winding board-road.	The condo-type suites where we stayed	Dining/living area... leading to the deck... which was most pleasant to sit outside to eat or read (in February)	Looking back toward the kitchen area
We returned for a night at the Lamb house in York... and I didn't get a photo of Matt and Allison	But I got a shot of Meredith and Geno (and a yet-to-be-named little one) who stopped by for supper
