This was in my divorcee "apartment rat" days (1979-1981). I suppose that nowadays apartment owners/renters would take a dim view of this kind of activity. But I was young and carefree (but careful too). A small Honeywell flash was the "shutter" in a darkened room. Flash duration was about 1/20,000 of a second. The airgun was a borrowed S&W.
