Burnaby

Welcome to Burnaby, a charming next-door neighbour of more affluent and famous Vancouver. It is home to many parks, streams, several golf courses, and three lakes. With the snow-capped North Shore Mountains and spectacular Burrard Inlet in the north and the mighty Fraser River in the south, Burnaby is a naturally beautiful community. Burnaby offers great opportunities for higher education, with Simon Fraser University (SFU) located on top of Burnaby Mountain and British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in the western part of the city. Burnaby is also known for its famous sons - actors Michael J. Fox and Antonio Cupo, Squire Barnes from Global BC, crooner Michael Buble and hockey players Joe Sakic and Cliff Ronning. Metropolis at Metrotown, the largest shopping complex in Greater Vancouver, attracts dozens of thousands of shoppers every day and is conveniently linked to other parts of the Lower Mainland by SkyTrain.
