John Carruthers Merrill was the youngest of two children born to Arthur Whiston Merrill & his wife, Elaine Abel Merrill. On 07 April 1940 he married Darthula M. Null. Together this couple had four children. They rest together in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln Nebraska.
