Challenge 4: Shadows & Silhouettes (hosted by Ravenduff)

The theme will be Shadows and Silhouettes - a good opportunity to see and manipulate the effects that the direction of light has on the composition of your photograph. Only requirement is at least one shadow or silhouette as a key element of your photo.
• Challenge Period: Nov. 28, 2002 until 10 PM EST** on Mon., Dec. 9, 2002 • Rules: Images taken with any Olympus digital or dSLR camera, during the challenge period, will be eligible for the challenge. There are no limitations to creativity using any photo editing software, however, the shadow or silhouette must be photographed and not added with digital editing. • How To Enter: Email pictures to olychallenge@uplink.net by 10 PM EST on Dec. 9. Put challenge or exhibition in the subject line when submitting photos to indicate which gallery your image should be posted. Entries should provide: 1) Title of each image; 2) Date of photo; 3) Olympus Digicam model; 4) Name of photographer (dpreview nickname is fine); and 5) Description (optional), though camera settings are helpful. Photographer's name will be hidden until after the voting. • About Sizing: All entries at the same size 4:3 ratio; 700x525 seems adequate. • Number of Entries Per Person: 1 Challenge entry; 2 entries max for Exhibition • Challenge Gallery: for images taken during the Challenge period with an Olympus digicam.
