Exposure Compensation

If your camera has an Exposure Compensation control, it will help you to get the picture exposed the way you want it. When the camera has picked the setting it wants but you see that the picture is over exposed, you can use the Exposure Compensation control to fix this. Change the EV to a minus number to make the picture darker, and to a plus number to make it lighter.

Nice writeup!
Just a note: your exp. comp. diagram is a bit simplistic as it leads the reader to
believe only aperture will change if you dial in an ± EV ajustement which is
not true. Any of the three ( aperture/shutter speed/ISO) can change depending
on which mode the camera is operating in ( AP, SP, or Manual ). For example, if
my Nikon D70 is in manual mode with auto-ISO turned on whenever I dial in an
EV ajustment the ISO value will go up and down the scale to give me the coreect
exposure. The diagram you drew up would best fit the Shutter Priority case.

BUT OVERALL THIS IS A GREAT WRITEUP + DEFINITELY WORTH THE READ!!! EXCELLENT JOB =)))
