Polarizer | The Polarizer is one of the most used add-on filters. Its main use is to kill the reflection form the Sun or other light source. It can also be uses as a NDF if needed.
The filter is attached to the camera and then the outer ring is rotated to achive the best effect.
There are 2 types of polarizers, Circular and LINEAR. From what I can read and understand there is really no difference in them for digital cameras.
This link will show you just how a Polarizer can help your picture.

NFDs | A Neutral Density filter reduces the amount of light passing through the camera lens without changing the color of that light. It is especially useful in bright light conditions to help prevent overexposure. It can also help you get the shutter speeds down for more blur effect with waterfalls and any moving items in bright light.
As you can see in the pictures the filters are stackable, this will give less light. There is a 2 and a 4 filter in the picture the 2 on the left and the 4 on the right. In the center you can see the effect of the 2 together, which is a 6. ND-2 absorbs 1 f-stop, ND-4 absorbs 2 f-stops, and ND-8 absorbs 3 f-stops.

Filter Wallet | This is a very handy item to have if you have a few filters. It folds out (see next picture) and has pockets to store up to 8 filters. It is about 8 by 4 1/2 inches when folded up. It holds 8 filters. This one cost $8.50 and is well worth it, I am sure there are a lot of different ones out there, just look around.

Filter Wallet Open | This is the Filter Wallet Open, I have add labels to the pockets so I know just what filter go where. This is definitely on of those items you really need, if you have a few filters, it sure takes up a lot less room in the camera bag and it is very easy to find the filter you need when you need it.

Cokin A and P with GND filter | Two cokin filter holders side by side, left one is an A series holder, and the other a P series holder, both shown with graduated neutral density filters inserted. The A series holder is about 75mm wide and the P series one about 95mm wide. I use the P series one on the front of my wide angle lens which has a 72mm thread. You can get adapter rings to suit whatever thread needed.
