"What Is This?" is the theme for the new challenge. You should take a macro shot of some portion of an everyday item, and make folks scratch their heads and wonder "What Is This?" Give your photo a name, but don't give away the item with your title. No deliberate distortions will be acceptable. The item might end up looking like something very abstract....you may leave it in color or transform to a black/white image.
The Challenge is open to all members of the Olympus Talk Forum, or the SLR Forum, who joined before the beginning of the challenge period and all entry photos must be taken with an Olympus digital or DSLR camera. The hostess has elected not to submit an entry nor participate in the voting. Members are limited to one entry per person, and you may send in two shots for the exhibition gallery. The exhibition shots can be from any time and any camera.

When the Entry Gallery opens, folks can leave a comment guessing what the object is....and all will be revealed when the challenge is over. The 'guessing' has nothing to do with voting for the best photo. When the winning thread is posted, entrants can post to that thread with the macro entry shot and a shot of the actual object.
Be sure to resize your photos to 800 on the long side and they should be under 200 kb. Send exhibitions and challenge entries to: lucyelmore@citlink (dot) net (substitute . for (dot) ) and be sure to put "Exhibition Photo" or "Challenge Photo" in the subject line. Identify yourself by your forum name, too, please, and don't forget your Title, and include the image as an attachment , not embedded in the message so exif will remain intact.
Challenge will begin Friday, July 24th, 10 AM Central Time, and end on August 7th, 10 AM Central Time.
