I am sure I have taken better pictures this year but this is the one I like the best. (My Favorite)

I am really not sure just why but when I look at this image I seem to slow down and it makes me think bout life in general and how lucky I am to have what I have.

The picture was taken at our Town's annual Boo Bash, when Main Street was closed for the celebration of Halloween. The kids wore their costumes and were judged and lots of candy and favors were handed out by the merchants along the road. I spotted these two boys running up the street and it was one of those 'grab-it' shots that turned out well. I was pleased that I caught them with their feet off the ground in mid run, and their joy was so apparent. EXIF: Taken with the UZI, 39.3mm, 1/800 sec, F2.8, ISO 100

We had an abundance of butterflies and new species visit our garden this year. This is one of the three new Vanessa genera that visited, a Vanessa cardui, and one of my favorites.

This shot of captain George Vancouver's statue in King's Lynn's quayside is my favourite of 2007. Here is a brief history of this remarkable man:

George Vancouver was born in 1757 in King’s Lynn, England. He is best remembered for the longest mapping expedition in history, sailing in HMS Discovery. Between 1791-1795, Vancouver and his crew men mapped the North American west coast from San Diego, California to southern Alaska. His measurements were so accurate that many were used even in 20th century until computer technology took over. The city of Vacouver in British Columbia and Vancouver island were named after him.

I don't know that I've taken anything this year that can compete with so many of the others, but then I got to thinking and while I don't know if I can say it is my best shot of the year, it is certainly among my favorites, which is why I chose it for my SIG. So I submit this as my sentimental favorite of the year (but not technically my best shot).

Lucy & Cathy Bag A Buck

That's our own Lucy Elmore and Cathy Waters photographing a big buck in Cades Cove this past August. That was a special day, showing my good friends the wonders of Cades Cove, and the deer and bear were most cooperative. Watching my friends having a good time with the deer makes this one of my favorites.

Fun with a Red Ryder. This is 'Potshot'. It's a macro of a BB hole that I shot through a CD...and no, I did not shoot my eye out. :-) Taken with a Canon 350D and 70-200 f/4 with 500D close up diopter.

Title: Fire Breathing
Camera: Canon 30D
Lens: EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 USM IS

It is one of my favourite pictures of this year. It was taken during the “Chinese Lantern Festival” days, Ontario Place, Toronto. It was a late night show of the amazing Chinese Acrobatic Troupe.

It was taken at 200mm (320mm in 35 mm world), ISO 3200, f/5, 1/2500, aperture priority, developed from RAW, resized and sharpened.

I like to come back to this image and enjoy in flames and its details. It was tough to get it, because it all happened so quickly. I had almost no time to react and get few pictures.

This would have to be it - Sandra is standing in front of a mural that my nephew Adrian, on a visit from his native Switzerland, just completed in February here in Auckland.
