Finally on Friday April 25, 2003 our new pal came home with us. We named him Kwakasi (Swahili for "fast", directly translated it means "with speed." We call him Kasi - "speed" - for short).
Kasi spent his first weekend getting used to new surroundings, new people, and only having one other dog around. He was a little... no, a LOT apprehensive of transitions (coming out of his kennel, going through the back door, getting off the porch, going through the doggie door, etc. - we also found that neither rain nor umbrellas were at all appreciated), but he adjusted.
Of his first 48 hours with us, Kasi spent about 40 of them asleep. He's soon started to become a little more active, but he certainly never became as active as Oneone - he was, however, MUCH faster when he wanted to be.
Two things we noticed about his name:We still liked the name, and it suited him, so we stuck with it.
