Finally, at 2:00 PM we reached the summit. We were within a half hour of our turn-around time! This shot shows Bud signing the summit register. This climb was dedicated to Sandy in recognition of her gutsy determination to get to the top of Mount Whitney though we didn't find out until the following morning that she and Cynthia had actually summited). This view is looking southwest towards the Palisade Basin. The ridge to Polemonium Peak is visible on the right.

It took us a little bit of poking around on the summit (with a stiff wind blowing, to boot) to actually find the register! Somebody'd moved it!!
