June 28th was our entry day. We slept at the trailhead (6,430 ft., 1,960 m.) on the night of the 27th. We were considering the trip a vacation rather than a quick climb, so we took everything at a leisurely slacker pace. Here, at the trailhead on the first day, Sam is ready to go.
