grafitti in st.sophia.jpg

This is very interesting because within a meter away from each other on a balcony railing you see three graffiti from three different eras spanning, perhaps 1500 years. First is the Greek from the Byzantine times, and then with the Arabic characters from the Ottoman times and the last is from the contemporary times in Turkish with Latin characters. Somehow the Latin alphabet of the present Turks presents a historical irony in once was the imperial cathedral of the Orthodox Church.

Well then, I stand corrected. In that case can someone tell me what ‘theta’ and ‘pi’ stand for in Viking lore/myth? Or does it represent the ‘sun’ and an ‘altar’? I was under the impression that it had some thing to do with the Christianity: Latin and/or Orthodox.
