I bought this bike to come full circle back to the DR 650 as an off pavement adventure bike. I'd had a '01 DR 650 but after being laid off for 6 months thought that reducing payments might be a good thing so I sold it for what I owed on it. Life got better so I bought a dream bike of my youth, a 605 ATK. The ATK was everything I thought it would be with 50+ HP and Olin's suspension but had issues that I didn't need, 93 mile range, and faulty electrics. It got sold to someone that was looking for a woods race bike so It was a purfict match. Then I bought a beater DR 350, fixed it all up, rode it for a year but realized it was just too under powered for me. Sold it and the same day found and bought for exactly what I got out of the 350 the current 1998 DR 650.
