with some thanks to i found them. the other sister was named susan. i had breakfast with my aunt and uncle david(half brother of them) for the first time and it was the most awesome experiance i have ever had. they were so inviting and open to me.....i was really scared but they said there was no question that i was his son it was like seeiing him again even my voice.they also gave me my sisters contact info . thank you so much because i didnt even know my uncles name until i found your site and theres not to many brecks i would love to see pictures my email is admin@t-rextowing.com

i think that i might have found some of the brubakers in my search. im 32 and somtimes i search for fun to see if i can find any of my dads family since i have never met any of them my mom recently passed 3 weeks ago so i really started searching my dad was bruce died in 1980's i dont know if they know anything about me today i finally paid and got susans (my aunt i assume)number hopefully i can work up the courage to call her i dont know why but im scared to death. anyway i really thought that it was cool to see those pics of my uncle

Richie Leverton and I walked to school together everyday. I remember the first day of kindergarten. Ritchie ran ahead of me while walking east in front of the high school. I was crying. Ritchie and I lived next door to each other on Colton Ave. My address was 9517 Colton Ave. I lived there from 1954 till 1966. Ritchie’s address was 9523 Colton Ave. Fred Faschner lived in the house between our houses.

My fondest memories of Kindergarten were nap time. We would lay a mat out on the floor and rest. Coloring was fun. Drawing and making pictures was fun. The church was a perfect setting for school.

I know my kindergarten teacher was "Mrs. Carlisle", I think I may have the spelling wrong, but I'll ask my mother, she knows how it is spelled. George Carlisle, who used to be an insurance salesman in Elk Grove, was her husband. I know all this because I was related to the Carlisle's somehow or other. I know when Mrs. Carlisle died, my aunt Patsy Dart (Steve Darts mother) married George, they are still married and I see them several times a year.

You might have had the same Kindergarten teacher as I did. Kirsty Cripe, Jeff Keply, Steven Dart, etc. I believe were in that class also. And yes, I remember nap time. Remember how Mrs. Edna Batey would come in and read us stories and put M&M's in our milk as a special treat (always made me sick though?). I also think Mrs. Licktenburger might have taught kindergarten that year. There was only one or two classes. -Jim

Rick Liburdi was killed too on a rainy afternoon when Rick Nudo hit a deep puddle at the train tracks on EG Florin Rd and slid sideways into a car coming the opposite way. Someone, I think Paul Satterlee but not sure who, was paralyzed too. Rick's sisters, Cindy and Linda were 2 of my first girl friends. Rick and I hung out although he was a year younger, where I lived there weren't too many kids to hang out with. I don't remember a Beets. Did you know Dave Strong? I got a 1956 Chevy from him and built it around a motor I had. I got my 55 Chevy from a Mexican kid from south Sac. He was killed in a car accident that I think is memorialized in my 68 Year Book. 4 or 5 students were killed when I think an axle came out and the car flipped. Then I got a 57 Chevy 4 door hardtop in white and then the 56 from Strong.

Debbie Worster or Wooster? She had "cooties". ------ ya know girls think we have cooties too. I kid with coworkers about having cooties. I think it was Wooster. My sister just sent me a bunch of stuff from when I was in elementary school and when I get it out I will do some photos. What I do is take a small resolution photo of the photo and then post it to the Internet. If you want to get you photos off the card take the card to any Wal-mart and plug it into their machine. Have a print made of each and a disc too. Then put the disc in your D drive and put the photos in your computer. That is one way. Then you have them on disc and in your computer.

Fite was the center of many of my problems in Jr high. We did not get along at all but everything turned out ok in spite of me.

mostly I just like the computer cause I like to write, whenever ------ I love to write and it is much easier to do the writing on the computer.

I use propane for heat and electric for cooking. I have a full 100 pound bottle and a full 7 pound bottle.

Western Festival was great. I was just thinking of that this am. I decided I wouldn't go back though, it would be way too crowded. A few years ago I went out to EG and the city limit sign said 100,000 people.

In 3rd grade David Beets and I put together a little "float" thing with my bike and his wagon. We won 3rd place. I cant remember the name of the girl whose horse reared up and flipped over on her, breaking her pelvis.. She was a year behind me in Jr high and I think she was from Wilton, real cute, small girl. I think her last name was Gay, not sure.

Most of the years after Jr high I went but was too drunk or high to remember much. I went back 2 or 3 years later as a carney and worked the place in a 6 pin joint. Its a midway game that is played with a wooden ball about the size of a softball and you roll it to knock down some pins shaped like engine head valves. You can't win unless I let you, which would get me fired usually. I haven't put that on too many resumes. Well it was hard to get a job right out of school and I didn't think of anybody but Chris back then, literally. I don't remember seeing anyone I knew though in spite of being there all day for 3 or 4 days.

You know this is weird, I even remember that the name was Vern Kellogg, probably the only school official I ever knew his first name, but I cant remember a face or anything. I think he was principal or assistant principal at Daylor? He was at Kerr too wasn't he? Oh I just remembered Mr Bob "Bozo" Fite. That seemed cool but kids are sure cruel. His daughter was in my class too.

Do you remember Debbie Worster or Wooster? The poor kid had had polio and had one leg in a brace. I remember she was such a pretty little girl too, but in 2nd or 3rd grade I just joined everyone else teasing her about it. She had "cooties". That is one of the worst memories I have of elementary school. I feel so bad and there is nothing I could do now except that I taught my kids not to do so. That could never be enough though. I know God forgives me, sometimes its very hard to see myself as I was though.

I like your trailer. We've got a 34 ft vagabond with an 8 ft tip out, which I wish I'd operated myself before I bought it. That tip out literally tips up into the trailer and it must weigh 300 to 400 pounds. I have to get help from someone strong to get it in before I can move it. Even with help I'm down with my back completely frozen up for two or three days.

I don't have a web page anywhere but I have a 13 year old who can probably fix that. I can web surf but mostly I just like the computer cause I like to write, whenever I have an idea, which isn't that often. Still it is so much easier on the computer. I just do short stories about family life or something I read in the Bible and what it means to me or whatever. Anyway she is much more creative on the computer than I am.

Got to go change the propane bottle, it ran out mid dinner again,

I just thought of this and would like to talk about this first. Laura Kelso. Laura was in my class and she was reserved and quiet. She was very nice looking and seemed like she would grow up and be the real smart type of person. Debbie Kelso was one grade behind me, in your grade, and Debbie was the love of my life starting, I think in 2nd grade. Every time I saw Debbie my heart raced. She was so wonderful. If I remember correctly Laura and Debbie Kelso lived on Bradshaw road between Calvine road and Gerber road on the east or SE side of Bradshaw road. Call it infatuation, call if lust, call it true love ( my hormones) call it what you want but Debbie Kelso was the total, total, total love of my life in elementary school and then Laura Morris became my girlfriend in Jr. high. Those were the good years....

Jimmy Hudson ( current phone 408-554-1316 jrh@goasic.com ) talks about the finer moments in the first few years a grade school too. I just spoke with Jimmy on the phone ) 8/07/08 about two weeks ago when I called to see if he and his wife Rose were doing OK with the California fires. He is fine thank God.

I don't remember, like Jimmy says "M&M's in our milk" in kindergarten or like you say "like going to Grandmas for school". I am sure it happened but I don't remember. I remember the blond haired girl named Karen Jolly on the play ground and I remember Jeff Kepley. Jeff lives in Sacramento and I keep in touch with him. I do remember Don the school bus driver. Do you remember the basement under the band room where the playground equipment was kept? Do you remember playing 4 square and playing softball on the baseball field?

Wow. Debbie Kelso. I have often thought of her because she was my first TRUE love but I have never heard anything regarding her well being. I hope she is OK.

Mr. Landis was a good teacher. I played not the French horn but ?? I think?? the English horn.. I don't believe I ever got to be to good at it.

I thought Mr Reynolds was the principal? ------- I don't remember who the principal was. I remember Mr. Reynolds as my teacher. He might have become the principal but I do not know.

might have been Mr Yamaguchi or Yamamoto but not at all sure ------ I don't remember for sure. I don't remember but the first name sounds familiar. The name Yamamoto sounds like the name of the owner of the Orchard across the street behind the Movie theater west of Colton Avenue. As far as I can remember the 6th grade teacher was short, maybe 5'2 and very good at his job. If I remember correctly his class ( 2 classes two rooms ) were upstairs above the east side of the playground and two classes were in the lower level, same as the playground equipment room so that when you were in these two lower class rooms the ground was at eye level when you were looking out the windows in the lower classrooms.

Do you remember Western Festival? That used to be a lot of fun.

I remember Mrs. Hahn. I remember Miss Keaggy and Mr Newman and Mr Blackie. Mr. Kellogg had a bad accident that killed him. A freak accident. I was shocked to hear of his passing. He was great. Mr. Fales wife works in the old folks home in Elk Grove. My mom used to attend that location. My mom passed in 1999. My dad in 1980.

Hey Jeff, where's Mesa? I've been through Phoenix a few times ------- Mesa is in the southeast valley just south east of Scottsdale and east of downtown Phoenix and Tempe. Chandler is south of us and Gilbert is south east of us. It is hot for 3 1/2 months out of the year but the rest of the time is nice, very nice.

I had Mrs Hahn in 6th which wasn't comfortable because 3 years earlier, she hit my sister in the head with her little judges gavel and my parents raised hell over it. I started 6th grade in a bad way. It wouldn't have mattered I wasn't a good studier, just not interested. I made her really mad too by winning the class spelling bee from Becky Litchfield who was a nice enough girl, but all study and Mrs Hahns favorite. I didn't expect it but I could sure tell Mrs Hahn was really ticked off when she gave me the box of candy. Your teacher used to come to our class about once a week to teach us Japanese, I don't remember volunteering for this but we got it anyway. I think his name might have been Mr Yamaguchi or Yamamoto but not at all sure.

I don't remember most teachers after that, a little of Miss Keaggy cause she was actually interested in us, Mr Newman, I think he was the principal at Daylor but I had known him because he lived near me and I used to play with his son Brian in late elementary. and Jr high.

Oh yeah Mr Blackie. Intake compression power, exhaust. I liked him. He was business mostly but he was a good teacher, good guy. He caught me smoking in the bathroom once and got a free slave to clean up the shop in time for parents night.

None of the names you mentioned of elementary kids were familiar, I think maybe you were a year ahead of me but the accident set you back? My reason to go to Daylor was just to graduate on schedule, to catch up a little. In high school I didn't care much at first and partied too much. When they found out that instead of going to class I had been going to 2nd lunch with my other friends I already had 50 cuts and would end up graduating late. Daylor was a great place to be but I wonder sometimes what I missed with all the partying.

I read a lot though and try to fill in the blanks when I don't understand something I read or hear. I went to Sac City foe a while but got sidetracked again by photo classes and girls. Id send you some of my shots but I just got into digital finally and I Haven't figured out yet how to get the photos from the card into an e-mail. Most of my stuff is on film and filling boxes among other boxes at present.

Went to Sierra College in Rocklin (Placer Co) and learned horse training and animal husbandry. Haven't used the husbandry much but I love working with horses when I get the chance. I owned some for a while but learned it was cheaper to work for someone, let them own the horses and I could spend all day with them. Since being hurt I haven't had much time with any.

Hey Jeff, where's Mesa? I've been through Phoenix a few times going to Houston and driven from Lordsberg NM through the Mogollons ( God I loved that), and we have visited friends in Flagstaff a couple times but I don't remember coming across Mesa. From your photo galleries it looks southwest AZ. You've been there all this time? I was just born under a wandering star I guess. I've moved around a lot and had a lot of different jobs but I've had a wonderful time seeing and doing it all.

Thanks for the pics.. Its funny but everybody looks different than I remember. I only remember Ralph and Laura, although I only knew Ralph in passing and Laura from seeing in classes, and maybe on the bus but never talked to her that I can remember.

Hey this is great but I gotta go, my daughter just woke up. I need to figure out why she would wake up at 5 AM, it just isnt like her.

My fondest memories of Kindergarten were nap time. We would lay a mat out on the floor and rest. Coloring was fun. Drawing and making pictures was a lot of fun too.

George Carlisle, who used to be an insurance salesman in Elk Grove, was her husband. I know all this because I was related to the Carlisle's somehow or other. I know when Mrs. Carlisle died, my aunt Patsy Dart

(Steve Darts mother) married George, they are still married and I see them several times a year.

You might have had the same Kindergarten teacher as I did. Kirsty Cripe, Jeff Keply, Steven Dart, etc. I believe were in that class also. And yes, I remember nap time. Remember how Mrs. Edna Batey would come in and read us stories and put M&M's in our milk as a special treat (always made me sick though?). I also think Mrs. Lichtenburger might have taught kindergarten that year. There was only one or two classes. -Jim

Yeah Barry Knapp lived down the street (Casselman) from me. It runs off EG-Florin about 1/2 mile north of Gerber. You wouldn't believe all the supermarkets out there now. Calvine and EG-Florin has 2 supermarkets and 2 strip malls. There are houses from Florin to EG now.

Anyway yeah Barry lived down the street but he and his sister never came out with the rest of us, they stayed to themselves at home. I remember Barry was pretty good as a running back in Jr and Sr high. I don't know what ever became of either of them though.

I don't remember Mrs Gage but you jogged my mind a little on Curtis Davis. He was along with me and Kirk a couple of times running around.

I remember Hart from Jr high. He wanted to move to Germany, I wonder if he did? Did you remember Billy Skaggs too then? I think they used to hang around a bit. Last time I saw Billy he was being arrested for going through a window in an apartment complex where I was assistant manager. He tried to play it off like he thought it was my window when he recognized me. I guess he thought I would go along but sorry,I didn't like the guy in the apt he tried to burglarize but I don't like burglars either. He mentioned Ralph Asta at that time too but I never saw Ralph, I don't know if he was really there or it was just Billy talking.

Larry Seibl sounds so familiar but I cant put anything to the name. Same with John Sproul. Mike Kelly was working as a warehouse sup at the Sac Bee in 1987. Yeah Scott Paxton was trouble, he was why I stayed away from Tony Homan, they were pretty tight.

I'm really sorry about your brother, the older I get the harder it is to think of the young dying. I don't believe I knew him though.

I've done a lot of things since back then, some route delivery jobs (produce, air freight out of town shipments for the Bee) worked for airlines, union labor, even cowboyed for a while. About 2 years ago a large swamp cooler fell on me and squashed 3 vertebrae and made a narrowing in the spinal column so that theres nearly constant pressure on my nerves so I haven't worked in that time. So far ok but the insurance will run out someday. I know all things work together for good so I just keep plugging.

It is good to hear from you, I learn and remember a little more from each note so please keep writing,

Very interesting. Breck and Bruce lived across the field from me. Bruce, Brad, Breck and Brenda and their parents. Bruce was my age and Breck was one year younger. I always thought Brad was between Bruce and Breck but I could be wrong. I have often tried to find Bran with no resolve. From what I have heard the parents and Bruce and Breck all passed away around the same time. If Brad was between then Breck started Daylor in his Jr. year and I was there in my second senior year because the first senior year was cut short by my accident. Bruce used to come over to my house all the time. Our address was 8770 Grantline RD..

My school history was Methodist church kindergarten. EG elementary 1 thru 6. Kerr 7 thru 9 and EGHS 10th and 11th transferring to Daylor to complete my senior year so I could get out early and go to college. I was set to graduate class of 70 from Daylor and crashed into the Big Rig truck broadside at Mack RD and Stockton BLVD in Sept. 69. When I came back in 70 Breck was there and Bruce was to, I think.

Barry Knapp. I met a Barry Knapp in 3rd grade with one ear that was bigger than the other, I think. I always liked Barry because we had the same last name. Margaret Gage was my 4th grade teacher and she currently lives in the Wilton Area. I keep in touch with her. And her son Glenn in Washington. I believe Mr. Gage passed away. Mrs. Gage her son David then Glenn then Steven... David is Glenn's older brother and he lives in the Wilton area too. I have not heard anything about Barry Knapp until today. Interesting.

Kirk King was Curtis Davis's cousin. I went to live with Curtis when I ran away to LA in the summer of 1970. Instead I met him in Upland and moved in with Kevin "cornball" Conroy for the summer and went to Man Power and Development school in Rancho Cucumonga. I sold my 38 five window coupe in Upland and came home by Greyhound bus in time to go back to school at Daylor for the senior class of 70/71 graduating with the class of 71. I saw Jimi Hendrix in concert in the San Bernardino Coliseum and he died about 4 months later. I have a lot of his music on CD.

If you and Breck were the same age and Bruce and I were the same age and Brad was in between then you may have been 2 years after me in school. I started at Kerr the year it opened. I lived on Colton ave next to the school. My dad taught math at the school when it was EGHS before it became Kerr Jr. high. Hart Gerlinger was a friend and we hung out riding our minibikes.

After I moved to Sheldon I hung with Breck Bruce Kirk King and Larry Seibl. Larry lived with his disabled dad next door to me on Grantline RD. Mike Kelly and John Sproul were friends too. And Willy Morrison. I have John's USPS mailing address and his son came to Arizona a few years ago to go to school. I keep in touch. He knows more about the Breck and Bruce passing topic than I do.

Wasn't Scott Paxton a trouble maker. I could be wrong but I do not believe I hung out with Paxton..

I live in a 28 x 8 x 6.2 feet high travel trailer. It is fine for me. Small but fine. My brother was Randy Knapp. You may have known him. He died June 10, 1969 from Leukemia.

Didn't Keith Mckee have real long hair and Brian Nesbit had a crewcut?

I will write more when I get time. Lets keep this e-mail thread going. It is very interesting. As I may have mentioned I wrote a letter on paper to Sharon D and gave her your e-mail address. She may be in contact.

I don't have any pictures handy from that time, were staying here in our travel trailer, not much room for 3 people and memoribilia. I never wore glasses back then though. I was probably 5'6" and 130 to 140 lbs at that timie brown wavy or curly hair. I'd always try to grow it but there was just too much of it. Wish I had that problem now.

I'd kind of like to hear more about any reunion, I recognize several other names on your list but I can't picture the faces, I know I know them though. Maybe I'll get a chance to find my EG year book and look them up.

We've also raised 2 of Her's and 2 of mine though my 2 were with their mother most of the time. We also were foster parents for 8 years due to my wife's interest in psychology and helping people.

We have lived in Houston and Northern Nevada and Lassen County CA but are presently back in Sac to be near our oldest daughter who is struggling with terminal brain cancer. Since some of your pics make it appear you are in medicine in some way the cancer is Oligodendroglioma.

Please pray for her and my wife who is of course taking it very hard. I feel sometimes like I've just kind of shut down about it, I hope that doesn't sound too bad. Sometimes I have assurance that must come from God that all will be well, but not lately.

Rick Liburdi was killed too on a rainy afternoon when Rick Nudo hit a deep puddle at the train tracks on EG Florin Rd and slid sideways into a car coming the opposite way. Someone, I think Paul Satterlee but not sure who, was paralyzed too. Rick's sisters, Cindy and Linda were 2 of my first girl friends. Rick and I hung out although he was a year younger, where I lived there weren't too many kids to hang out with. I don't remember a Beets. Did you know Dave Strong? I got a 1956 Chevy from him and built it around a motor I had. I got my 55 Chevy from a Mexican kid from south Sac. He was killed in a car accident that I think is memorialized in my 68 Year Book. 4 or 5 students were killed when I think an axle came out and the car flipped. Then I got a 57 Chevy 4 door hardtop in white and then the 56 from Strong.

Debbie Worster or Wooster? She had "cooties". ------ ya know girls think we have cooties too. I kid with coworkers about having cooties. I think it was Wooster. My sister just sent me a bunch of stuff from when I was in elementary school and when I get it out I will do some photos. What I do is take a small resolution photo of the photo and then post it to the Internet. If you want to get you photos off the card take the card to any Wal-mart and plug it into their machine. Have a print made of each and a disc too. Then put the disc in your D drive and put the photos in your computer. That is one way. Then you have them on disc and in your computer.

Fite was the center of many of my problems in Jr high. We did not get along at all but everything turned out ok in spite of me.

mostly I just like the computer cause I like to write, whenever ------ I love to write and it is much easier to do the writing on the computer.

I use propane for heat and electric for cooking. I have a full 100 pound bottle and a full 7 pound bottle.

Western Festival was great. I was just thinking of that this am. I decided I wouldn't go back though, it would be way too crowded. A few years ago I went out to EG and the city limit sign said 100,000 people.

In 3rd grade David Beets and I put together a little "float" thing with my bike and his wagon. We won 3rd place. I cant remember the name of the girl whose horse reared up and flipped over on her, breaking her pelvis.. She was a year behind me in Jr high and I think she was from Wilton, real cute, small girl. I think her last name was Gay, not sure.

Most of the years after Jr high I went but was too drunk or high to remember much. I went back 2 or 3 years later as a carney and worked the place in a 6 pin joint. Its a midway game that is played with a wooden ball about the size of a softball and you roll it to knock down some pins shaped like engine head valves. You can't win unless I let you, which would get me fired usually. I haven't put that on too many resumes. Well it was hard to get a job right out of school and I didn't think of anybody but Chris back then, literally. I don't remember seeing anyone I knew though in spite of being there all day for 3 or 4 days.

You know this is weird, I even remember that the name was Vern Kellogg, probably the only school official I ever knew his first name, but I cant remember a face or anything. I think he was principal or assistant principal at Daylor? He was at Kerr too wasn't he? Oh I just remembered Mr Bob "Bozo" Fite. That seemed cool but kids are sure cruel. His daughter was in my class too.

Do you remember Debbie Worster or Wooster? The poor kid had had polio and had one leg in a brace. I remember she was such a pretty little girl too, but in 2nd or 3rd grade I just joined everyone else teasing her about it. She had "cooties". That is one of the worst memories I have of elementary school. I feel so bad and there is nothing I could do now except that I taught my kids not to do so. That could never be enough though. I know God forgives me, sometimes its very hard to see myself as I was though.

I like your trailer. We've got a 34 ft vagabond with an 8 ft tip out, which I wish I'd operated myself before I bought it. That tip out literally tips up into the trailer and it must weigh 300 to 400 pounds. I have to get help from someone strong to get it in before I can move it. Even with help I'm down with my back completely frozen up for two or three days.

I don't have a web page anywhere but I have a 13 year old who can probably fix that. I can web surf but mostly I just like the computer cause I like to write, whenever I have an idea, which isn't that often. Still it is so much easier on the computer. I just do short stories about family life or something I read in the Bible and what it means to me or whatever. Anyway she is much more creative on the computer than I am.

Got to go change the propane bottle, it ran out mid dinner again,

I just thought of this and would like to talk about this first. Laura Kelso. Laura was in my class and she was reserved and quiet. She was very nice looking and seemed like she would grow up and be the real smart type of person. Debbie Kelso was one grade behind me, in your grade, and Debbie was the love of my life starting, I think in 2nd grade. Every time I saw Debbie my heart raced. She was so wonderful. If I remember correctly Laura and Debbie Kelso lived on Bradshaw road between Calvine road and Gerber road on the east or SE side of Bradshaw road. Call it infatuation, call if lust, call it true love ( my hormones) call it what you want but Debbie Kelso was the total, total, total love of my life in elementary school and then Laura Morris became my girlfriend in Jr. high. Those were the good years....

Jimmy Hudson ( current phone 408-554-1316 jrh@goasic.com ) talks about the finer moments in the first few years a grade school too. I just spoke with Jimmy on the phone ) 8/07/08 about two weeks ago when I called to see if he and his wife Rose were doing OK with the California fires. He is fine thank God.

I don't remember, like Jimmy says "M&M's in our milk" in kindergarten or like you say "like going to Grandmas for school". I am sure it happened but I don't remember. I remember the blond haired girl named Karen Jolly on the play ground and I remember Jeff Kepley. Jeff lives in Sacramento and I keep in touch with him. I do remember Don the school bus driver. Do you remember the basement under the band room where the playground equipment was kept? Do you remember playing 4 square and playing softball on the baseball field?

Wow. Debbie Kelso. I have often thought of her because she was my first TRUE love but I have never heard anything regarding her well being. I hope she is OK.

might have been Mr Yamaguchi or Yamamoto but not at all sure ------ I don't remember for sure. I don't remember but the first name sounds familiar. The name Yamamoto sounds like the name of the owner of the Orchard across the street behind the Movie theater west of Colton Avenue. As far as I can remember the 6th grade teacher was short, maybe 5'2 and very good at his job. If I remember correctly his class ( 2 classes two rooms ) were upstairs above the east side of the playground and two classes were in the lower level, same as the playground equipment room so that when you were in these two lower class rooms the ground was at eye level when you were looking out the windows in the lower classrooms.

Do you remember Western Festival? That used to be a lot of fun.

I remember Mrs. Hahn. I remember Miss Keaggy and Mr Newman and Mr Blackie. Mr. Kellogg had a bad accident that killed him. A freak accident. I was shocked to hear of his passing. He was great. Mr. Fales wife works in the old folks home in Elk Grove. My mom used to attend that location. My mom passed in 1999. My dad in 1980.

Hey Jeff, where's Mesa? I've been through Phoenix a few times ------- Mesa is in the southeast valley just south east of Scottsdale and east of downtown Phoenix and Tempe. Chandler is south of us and Gilbert is south east of us. It is hot for 3 1/2 months out of the year but the rest of the time is nice, very nice.

I didn't expect it but I could sure tell Mrs Hahn was really ticked off when she gave me the box of candy. Your teacher used to come to our class about once a week to teach us Japanese, I don't remember volunteering for this but we got it anyway. I think his name might have been Mr Yamaguchi or Yamamoto but not at all sure.

I don't remember most teachers after that, a little of Miss Keaggy cause she was actually interested in us, Mr Newman, I think he was the principal at Daylor but I had known him because he lived near me and I used to play with his son Brian in late elementary. and Jr high.

Oh yeah Mr Blackie. Intake compression power, exhaust. I liked him. He was business mostly but he was a good teacher, good guy. He caught me smoking in the bathroom once and got a free slave to clean up the shop in time for parents night.

None of the names you mentioned of elementary kids were familiar, I think maybe you were a year ahead of me but the accident set you back? My reason to go to Daylor was just to graduate on schedule, to catch up a little. In high school I didn't care much at first and partied too much. When they found out that instead of going to class I had been going to 2nd lunch with my other friends I already had 50 cuts and would end up graduating late. Daylor was a great place to be but I wonder sometimes what I missed with all the partying.

I read a lot though and try to fill in the blanks when I don't understand something I read or hear. I went to Sac City foe a while but got sidetracked again by photo classes and girls. Id send you some of my shots but I just got into digital finally and I Haven't figured out yet how to get the photos from the card into an e-mail. Most of my stuff is on film and filling boxes among other boxes at present.

Went to Sierra College in Rocklin (Placer Co) and learned horse training and animal husbandry. Haven't used the husbandry much but I love working with horses when I get the chance. I owned some for a while but learned it was cheaper to work for someone, let them own the horses and I could spend all day with them. Since being hurt I haven't had much time with any.

Hey Jeff, where's Mesa? I've been through Phoenix a few times going to Houston and driven from Lordsberg NM through the Mogollons ( God I loved that), and we have visited friends in Flagstaff a couple times but I don't remember coming across Mesa. From your photo galleries it looks southwest AZ. You've been there all this time? I was just born under a wandering star I guess. I've moved around a lot and had a lot of different jobs but I've had a wonderful time seeing and doing it all.

Thanks for the pics.. Its funny but everybody looks different than I remember. I only remember Ralph and Laura, although I only knew Ralph in passing and Laura from seeing in classes, and maybe on the bus but never talked to her that I can remember.

Hey this is great but I gotta go, my daughter just woke up. I need to figure out why she would wake up at 5 AM, it just isnt like her.

Yeah Barry Knapp lived down the street (Casselman) from me. It runs off EG-Florin about 1/2 mile north of Gerber. You wouldn't believe all the supermarkets out there now. Calvine and EG-Florin has 2 supermarkets and 2 strip malls. There are houses from Florin to EG now.

Anyway yeah Barry lived down the street but he and his sister never came out with the rest of us, they stayed to themselves at home. I remember Barry was pretty good as a running back in Jr and Sr high. I don't know what ever became of either of them though.

I don't remember Mrs Gage but you jogged my mind a little on Curtis Davis. He was along with me and Kirk a couple of times running around.

I remember Hart from Jr high. He wanted to move to Germany, I wonder if he did? Did you remember Billy Skaggs too then? I think they used to hang around a bit. Last time I saw Billy he was being arrested for going through a window in an apartment complex where I was assistant manager. He tried to play it off like he thought it was my window when he recognized me. I guess he thought I would go along but sorry,I didn't like the guy in the apt he tried to burglarize but I don't like burglars either. He mentioned Ralph Asta at that time too but I never saw Ralph, I don't know if he was really there or it was just Billy talking.

Larry Seibl sounds so familiar but I cant put anything to the name. Same with John Sproul. Mike Kelly was working as a warehouse sup at the Sac Bee in 1987. Yeah Scott Paxton was trouble, he was why I stayed away from Tony Homan, they were pretty tight.

I'm really sorry about your brother, the older I get the harder it is to think of the young dying. I don't believe I knew him though.

I've done a lot of things since back then, some route delivery jobs (produce, air freight out of town shipments for the Bee) worked for airlines, union labor, even cowboyed for a while. About 2 years ago a large swamp cooler fell on me and squashed 3 vertebrae and made a narrowing in the spinal column so that theres nearly constant pressure on my nerves so I haven't worked in that time. So far ok but the insurance will run out someday. I know all things work together for good so I just keep plugging.

It is good to hear from you, I learn and remember a little more from each note so please keep writing,

Very interesting. Breck and Bruce lived across the field from me. Bruce, Brad, Breck and Brenda and their parents. Bruce was my age and Breck was one year younger. I always thought Brad was between Bruce and Breck but I could be wrong. I have often tried to find Bran with no resolve. From what I have heard the parents and Bruce and Breck all passed away around the same time. If Brad was between then Breck started Daylor in his Jr. year and I was there in my second senior year because the first senior year was cut short by my accident. Bruce used to come over to my house all the time. Our address was 8770 Grantline RD..

My school history was Methodist church kindergarten. EG elementary 1 thru 6. Kerr 7 thru 9 and EGHS 10th and 11th transferring to Daylor to complete my senior year so I could get out early and go to college. I was set to graduate class of 70 from Daylor and crashed into the Big Rig truck broadside at Mack RD and Stockton BLVD in Sept. 69. When I came back in 70 Breck was there and Bruce was to, I think.

Barry Knapp. I met a Barry Knapp in 3rd grade with one ear that was bigger than the other, I think. I always liked Barry because we had the same last name. Margaret Gage was my 4th grade teacher and she currently lives in the Wilton Area. I keep in touch with her. And her son Glenn in Washington. I believe Mr. Gage passed away. Mrs. Gage her son David then Glenn then Steven... David is Glenn's older brother and he lives in the Wilton area too. I have not heard anything about Barry Knapp until today. Interesting.

Kirk King was Curtis Davis's cousin. I went to live with Curtis when I ran away to LA in the summer of 1970. Instead I met him in Upland and moved in with Kevin "cornball" Conroy for the summer and went to Man Power and Development school in Rancho Cucumonga. I sold my 38 five window coupe in Upland and came home by Greyhound bus in time to go back to school at Daylor for the senior class of 70/71 graduating with the class of 71. I saw Jimi Hendrix in concert in the San Bernardino Coliseum and he died about 4 months later. I have a lot of his music on CD.

If you and Breck were the same age and Bruce and I were the same age and Brad was in between then you may have been 2 years after me in school. I started at Kerr the year it opened. I lived on Colton ave next to the school. My dad taught math at the school when it was EGHS before it became Kerr Jr. high. Hart Gerlinger was a friend and we hung out riding our minibikes.

After I moved to Sheldon I hung with Breck Bruce Kirk King and Larry Seibl. Larry lived with his disabled dad next door to me on Grantline RD. Mike Kelly and John Sproul were friends too. And Willy Morrison. I have John's USPS mailing address and his son came to Arizona a few years ago to go to school. I keep in touch. He knows more about the Breck and Bruce passing topic than I do.

Wasn't Scott Paxton a trouble maker. I could be wrong but I do not believe I hung out with Paxton..

I live in a 28 x 8 x 6.2 feet high travel trailer. It is fine for me. Small but fine. My brother was Randy Knapp. You may have known him. He died June 10, 1969 from Leukemia.

Didn't Keith Mckee have real long hair and Brian Nesbit had a crewcut?

I don't have any pictures handy from that time, were staying here in our travel trailer, not much room for 3 people and memoribilia. I never wore glasses back then though. I'd kind of like to hear more about any reunion, I recognize several other names on your list but I can't picture the faces, I know I know them though. Maybe I'll get a chance to find my EG year book and look them up.

We've also raised 2 of Her's and 2 of mine though my 2 were with their mother most of the time. We also were foster parents for 8 years due to my wife's interest in psychology and helping people.

We have lived in Houston and Northern Nevada and Lassen County CA but are presently back in Sac to be near our oldest daughter who is struggling with terminal brain cancer. Since some of your pics make it appear you are in medicine in some way the cancer is Oligodendroglioma.

Please pray for her and my wife who is of course taking it very hard. I feel sometimes like I've just kind of shut down about it, I hope that doesn't sound too bad. Sometimes I have assurance that must come from God that all will be well, but not lately.

Rick Liburdi was killed too on a rainy afternoon when Rick Nudo hit a deep puddle at the train tracks on EG Florin Rd and slid sideways into a car coming the opposite way. Someone, I think Paul Satterlee but not sure who, was paralyzed too. Rick's sisters, Cindy and Linda were 2 of my first girl friends. Rick and I hung out although he was a year younger, where I lived there weren't too many kids to hang out with. I don't remember a Beets. Did you know Dave Strong? I got a 1956 Chevy from him and built it around a motor I had. I got my 55 Chevy from a Mexican kid from south Sac. He was killed in a car accident that I think is memorialized in my 68 Year Book. 4 or 5 students were killed when I think an axle came out and the car flipped. Then I got a 57 Chevy 4 door hardtop in white and then the 56 from Strong.

Debbie Worster or Wooster? She had "cooties". ------ ya know girls think we have cooties too. I kid with coworkers about having cooties. I think it was Wooster. My sister just sent me a bunch of stuff from when I was in elementary school and when I get it out I will do some photos. What I do is take a small resolution photo of the photo and then post it to the Internet. If you want to get you photos off the card take the card to any Wal-mart and plug it into their machine. Have a print made of each and a disc too. Then put the disc in your D drive and put the photos in your computer. That is one way. Then you have them on disc and in your computer.

Fite was the center of many of my problems in Jr high. We did not get along at all but everything turned out ok in spite of me.

mostly I just like the computer cause I like to write, whenever ------ I love to write and it is much easier to do the writing on the computer.

I use propane for heat and electric for cooking. I have a full 100 pound bottle and a full 7 pound bottle.

Western Festival was great. I was just thinking of that this am. I decided I wouldn't go back though, it would be way too crowded. A few years ago I went out to EG and the city limit sign said 100,000 people.

In 3rd grade David Beets and I put together a little "float" thing with my bike and his wagon. We won 3rd place. I cant remember the name of the girl whose horse reared up and flipped over on her, breaking her pelvis.. She was a year behind me in Jr high and I think she was from Wilton, real cute, small girl. I think her last name was Gay, not sure.

Most of the years after Jr high I went but was too drunk or high to remember much. I went back 2 or 3 years later as a carney and worked the place in a 6 pin joint. Its a midway game that is played with a wooden ball about the size of a softball and you roll it to knock down some pins shaped like engine head valves. You can't win unless I let you, which would get me fired usually. I haven't put that on too many resumes. Well it was hard to get a job right out of school and I didn't think of anybody but Chris back then, literally. I don't remember seeing anyone I knew though in spite of being there all day for 3 or 4 days.

You know this is weird, I even remember that the name was Vern Kellogg, probably the only school official I ever knew his first name, but I cant remember a face or anything. I think he was principal or assistant principal at Daylor? He was at Kerr too wasn't he? Oh I just remembered Mr Bob "Bozo" Fite. That seemed cool but kids are sure cruel. His daughter was in my class too.

Do you remember Debbie Worster or Wooster? The poor kid had had polio and had one leg in a brace. I remember she was such a pretty little girl too, but in 2nd or 3rd grade I just joined everyone else teasing her about it. She had "cooties". That is one of the worst memories I have of elementary school. I feel so bad and there is nothing I could do now except that I taught my kids not to do so. That could never be enough though. I know God forgives me, sometimes its very hard to see myself as I was though.

I like your trailer. We've got a 34 ft vagabond with an 8 ft tip out, which I wish I'd operated myself before I bought it. That tip out literally tips up into the trailer and it must weigh 300 to 400 pounds. I have to get help from someone strong to get it in before I can move it. Even with help I'm down with my back completely frozen up for two or three days.

I don't have a web page anywhere but I have a 13 year old who can probably fix that. I can web surf but mostly I just like the computer cause I like to write, whenever I have an idea, which isn't that often. Still it is so much easier on the computer. I just do short stories about family life or something I read in the Bible and what it means to me or whatever. Anyway she is much more creative on the computer than I am.

Got to go change the propane bottle, it ran out mid dinner again,

I just spoke with Jimmy on the phone ) 8/07/08 about two weeks ago when I called to see if he and his wife Rose were doing OK with the California fires. He is fine thank God.

I don't remember, like Jimmy says "M&M's in our milk" in kindergarten or like you say "like going to Grandmas for school". I am sure it happened but I don't remember. I remember the blond haired girl named Karen Jolly on the play ground and I remember Jeff Kepley. Jeff lives in Sacramento and I keep in touch with him. I do remember Don the school bus driver. Do you remember the basement under the band room where the playground equipment was kept? Do you remember playing 4 square and playing softball on the baseball field?

Mr. Landis was a good teacher. I played not the French horn but ?? I think?? the English horn.. I don't believe I ever got to be to good at it.

I thought Mr Reynolds was the principal? ------- I don't remember who the principal was. I remember Mr. Reynolds as my teacher. He might have become the principal but I do not know.

might have been Mr Yamaguchi or Yamamoto but not at all sure ------ I don't remember for sure. I don't remember but the first name sounds familiar. The name Yamamoto sounds like the name of the owner of the Orchard across the street behind the Movie theater west of Colton Avenue. As far as I can remember the 6th grade teacher was short, maybe 5'2 and very good at his job. If I remember correctly his class ( 2 classes two rooms ) were upstairs above the east side of the playground and two classes were in the lower level, same as the playground equipment room so that when you were in these two lower class rooms the ground was at eye level when you were looking out the windows in the lower classrooms.

I remember Mrs. Hahn. I remember Miss Keaggy and Mr Newman and Mr Blackie. Mr. Kellogg had a bad accident that killed him. A freak accident. I was shocked to hear of his passing. He was great. Mr. Fales wife works in the old folks home in Elk Grove. My mom used to attend that location. My mom passed in 1999. My dad in 1980.

Hey Jeff, where's Mesa? I've been through Phoenix a few times ------- Mesa is in the southeast valley just south east of Scottsdale and east of downtown Phoenix and Tempe. Chandler is south of us and Gilbert is south east of us. It is hot for 3 1/2 months out of the year but the rest of the time is nice, very nice.

Your teacher used to come to our class about once a week to teach us Japanese, I don't remember volunteering for this but we got it anyway. I think his name might have been Mr Yamaguchi or Yamamoto but not at all sure.

I don't remember most teachers after that, a little of Miss Keaggy cause she was actually interested in us, Mr Newman, I think he was the principal at Daylor but I had known him because he lived near me and I used to play with his son Brian in late elementary. and Jr high.

Oh yeah Mr Blackie. Intake compression power, exhaust. I liked him. He was business mostly but he was a good teacher, good guy. He caught me smoking in the bathroom once and got a free slave to clean up the shop in time for parents night.

None of the names you mentioned of elementary kids were familiar, I think maybe you were a year ahead of me but the accident set you back? My reason to go to Daylor was just to graduate on schedule, to catch up a little. In high school I didn't care much at first and partied too much. When they found out that instead of going to class I had been going to 2nd lunch with my other friends I already had 50 cuts and would end up graduating late. Daylor was a great place to be but I wonder sometimes what I missed with all the partying.

I read a lot though and try to fill in the blanks when I don't understand something I read or hear. I went to Sac City foe a while but got sidetracked again by photo classes and girls. Id send you some of my shots but I just got into digital finally and I Haven't figured out yet how to get the photos from the card into an e-mail. Most of my stuff is on film and filling boxes among other boxes at present.

Went to Sierra College in Rocklin (Placer Co) and learned horse training and animal husbandry. Haven't used the husbandry much but I love working with horses when I get the chance. I owned some for a while but learned it was cheaper to work for someone, let them own the horses and I could spend all day with them. Since being hurt I haven't had much time with any.

Hey Jeff, where's Mesa? I've been through Phoenix a few times going to Houston and driven from Lordsberg NM through the Mogollons ( God I loved that), and we have visited friends in Flagstaff a couple times but I don't remember coming across Mesa. From your photo galleries it looks southwest AZ. You've been there all this time? I was just born under a wandering star I guess. I've moved around a lot and had a lot of different jobs but I've had a wonderful time seeing and doing it all.

Thanks for the pics.. Its funny but everybody looks different than I remember. I only remember Ralph and Laura, although I only knew Ralph in passing and Laura from seeing in classes, and maybe on the bus but never talked to her that I can remember.

Hey this is great but I gotta go, my daughter just woke up. I need to figure out why she would wake up at 5 AM, it just isnt like her.

Yeah Barry Knapp lived down the street (Casselman) from me. It runs off EG-Florin about 1/2 mile north of Gerber. You wouldn't believe all the supermarkets out there now. Calvine and EG-Florin has 2 supermarkets and 2 strip malls. There are houses from Florin to EG now.

Anyway yeah Barry lived down the street but he and his sister never came out with the rest of us, they stayed to themselves at home. I remember Barry was pretty good as a running back in Jr and Sr high. I don't know what ever became of either of them though.

I don't remember Mrs Gage but you jogged my mind a little on Curtis Davis. He was along with me and Kirk a couple of times running around.

I remember Hart from Jr high. He wanted to move to Germany, I wonder if he did? Did you remember Billy Skaggs too then? I think they used to hang around a bit. Last time I saw Billy he was being arrested for going through a window in an apartment complex where I was assistant manager. He tried to play it off like he thought it was my window when he recognized me. I guess he thought I would go along but sorry,I didn't like the guy in the apt he tried to burglarize but I don't like burglars either. He mentioned Ralph Asta at that time too but I never saw Ralph, I don't know if he was really there or it was just Billy talking.

Larry Seibl sounds so familiar but I cant put anything to the name. Same with John Sproul. Mike Kelly was working as a warehouse sup at the Sac Bee in 1987. Yeah Scott Paxton was trouble, he was why I stayed away from Tony Homan, they were pretty tight.

I'm really sorry about your brother, the older I get the harder it is to think of the young dying. I don't believe I knew him though.

I've done a lot of things since back then, some route delivery jobs (produce, air freight out of town shipments for the Bee) worked for airlines, union labor, even cowboyed for a while. About 2 years ago a large swamp cooler fell on me and squashed 3 vertebrae and made a narrowing in the spinal column so that theres nearly constant pressure on my nerves so I haven't worked in that time. So far ok but the insurance will run out someday. I know all things work together for good so I just keep plugging.

It is good to hear from you, I learn and remember a little more from each note so please keep writing,

Very interesting. Breck and Bruce lived across the field from me. Bruce, Brad, Breck and Brenda and their parents. Bruce was my age and Breck was one year younger. I always thought Brad was between Bruce and Breck but I could be wrong. I have often tried to find Bran with no resolve. From what I have heard the parents and Bruce and Breck all passed away around the same time. If Brad was between then Breck started Daylor in his Jr. year and I was there in my second senior year because the first senior year was cut short by my accident. Bruce used to come over to my house all the time. Our address was 8770 Grantline RD..

My school history was Methodist church kindergarten. EG elementary 1 thru 6. Kerr 7 thru 9 and EGHS 10th and 11th transferring to Daylor to complete my senior year so I could get out early and go to college. I was set to graduate class of 70 from Daylor and crashed into the Big Rig truck broadside at Mack RD and Stockton BLVD in Sept. 69. When I came back in 70 Breck was there and Bruce was to, I think.

Barry Knapp. I met a Barry Knapp in 3rd grade with one ear that was bigger than the other, I think. I always liked Barry because we had the same last name. Margaret Gage was my 4th grade teacher and she currently lives in the Wilton Area. I keep in touch with her. And her son Glenn in Washington. I believe Mr. Gage passed away. Mrs. Gage her son David then Glenn then Steven... David is Glenn's older brother and he lives in the Wilton area too. I have not heard anything about Barry Knapp until today. Interesting.

Kirk King was Curtis Davis's cousin. I went to live with Curtis when I ran away to LA in the summer of 1970. Instead I met him in Upland and moved in with Kevin "cornball" Conroy for the summer and went to Man Power and Development school in Rancho Cucumonga. I sold my 38 five window coupe in Upland and came home by Greyhound bus in time to go back to school at Daylor for the senior class of 70/71 graduating with the class of 71. I saw Jimi Hendrix in concert in the San Bernardino Coliseum and he died about 4 months later. I have a lot of his music on CD.

If you and Breck were the same age and Bruce and I were the same age and Brad was in between then you may have been 2 years after me in school. I started at Kerr the year it opened. I lived on Colton ave next to the school. My dad taught math at the school when it was EGHS before it became Kerr Jr. high. Hart Gerlinger was a friend and we hung out riding our minibikes.

After I moved to Sheldon I hung with Breck Bruce Kirk King and Larry Seibl. Larry lived with his disabled dad next door to me on Grantline RD. Mike Kelly and John Sproul were friends too. And Willy Morrison. I have John's USPS mailing address and his son came to Arizona a few years ago to go to school. I keep in touch. He knows more about the Breck and Bruce passing topic than I do.

Wasn't Scott Paxton a trouble maker. I could be wrong but I do not believe I hung out with Paxton..

I live in a 28 x 8 x 6.2 feet high travel trailer. It is fine for me. Small but fine. My brother was Randy Knapp. You may have known him. He died June 10, 1969 from Leukemia.

Didn't Keith Mckee have real long hair and Brian Nesbit had a crewcut?

I'd kind of like to hear more about any reunion, I recognize several other names on your list but I can't picture the faces, I know I know them though. Maybe I'll get a chance to find my EG year book and look them up.

Very smart kid about 5'4 and wore glasses.. Do you have a photo of yourself at Daylor? I had an accident the first day of school in Sept of 1969. Was out of school for the year then returned in 1970 and graduated class of 1971. We had 53 students in the class. I moved from EG to Arizona in 1971 and never looked back. I miss the 4 seasons. Who do you remember on the grad list. If you would like to reply to this e-mail with a note next to the people you knew that would be fine. I have heard about an all graduate reunion to be held sometime in the future.. This would be an enormous undertaking because it is so hard to contact people.

I've been married to my second wife twenty years now and we are still raising our youngest, a beautiful 13 year old who also shoots a lot of photos, often better than mine.

We've also raised 2 of Her's and 2 of mine though my 2 were with their mother most of the time. We also were foster parents for 8 years due to my wife's interest in psychology and helping people.

We have lived in Houston and Northern Nevada and Lassen County CA but are presently back in Sac to be near our oldest daughter who is struggling with terminal brain cancer. Since some of your pics make it appear you are in medicine in some way the cancer is Oligodendroglioma.

Please pray for her and my wife who is of course taking it very hard. I feel sometimes like I've just kind of shut down about it, I hope that doesn't sound too bad. Sometimes I have assurance that must come from God that all will be well, but not lately.
