We got married in September of 1969 about 6 PM on Sunday.
The separation took place in less than 24 hours the next day.
Very sad but she has never left my heart. I still love her, deeply. I always thought this was a 1960 Sunliner but as a result of reading in my Hot Rod
magazine it may be a Starliner instead. Hot Rod (issue 10/06 page 60) shows a car
being built for Paul Boschetto by http://www.creativeconcepts4u.com and it is a 60
Ford Starliner. On page 131 (HR issue 10/06) award-winning builder Danny Terzich
created the SR61 which is, I assume also a Starliner based on the similarities of the car
on page 60. I had a chance to get to know the previous owner Butch. He was Lester’s
brother and Lester worked with me at EG Farm Tire in Elk Grove California. I purchased
the car from Butch on Sunday evening and got in a bad car accident the next day on my
way home from school. I do not have any paperwork on the car. Do you know the model?
Answer from Tom Brownell ( Old Cars Weekly, 10/12/06 ) "The wrecked convertible is clearly
a 1960 Ford Galaxie Special Sunliner. I'm surprised that you ask, because your convertible
bears almost no resemblance to the show car pictured in Hot Rod magazine, which is not
only a year newer and therefore has different styling, but is also a different body style and
has a show car block-sanded finish". For more information http://www.oldcarsweekly.com
A different company e-mail suggests Sunliner was the convertible & Starliner was the hardtop.
When looking for a convertible look under "convertable" also. two different spellings
