DARD-Chamberlain2000.jpg

This is an extremely rare Chamberlain 2000 model, 4WD loader. Powered by a 112HP Perkins 6-372 (a slightly bored-out 6-354), it was produced from 1971 to 1980. Only about 250 of these loaders were built in total. It weighs around 10 tonnes, and was fitted with a 2 cu yd bucket as standard. It used an Allison transmission, Girlock disc brakes, Vickers hydraulics, Twin Disc axles, and it was a good performer - to the extent that Cat put out a "competitive machine" brochure on it, comparing it to the Cat 930.

Hi Toby - It's extremely difficult to place a value on the Chamberlain 200, because they're rarely up for sale. As a piece of important W.A. industrial history, I believe they have a great deal of "collector" value.
Of course, machine condition governs the sale price. All you can do is try a figure at the high end of sales values, and then work your way down with price reductions until you get a buyer.
I believe these machines are simple enough to repair, the only problem I've encountered is the brake calipers and disc rotors, they no longer exist anywhere.
I own a 2000 and I'm in the process of restoring it to excellent working order, but I'm working on fitting Cat brakes from an Integrated Toolcarrier model, as I spent years trying to find a missing Girlock caliper for my 2000, and they don't exist.
Cheers, Ron.
