This looks excellant. I assume your boat weight is 150-200lbs? I'm wondering how to beef this up to handle a 500lb 18ft. sailboat over sand. Maybe make the frame out of steel tubing? Axle and tire size would be critical with the 500lbs. any thoughts out there?

for my little boat i used golf trolley wheels which are nice and wide and so work well on soft sand or even river mud.
ps. I have been looking at your nesting dingy with great interest (it could be my next project if my son has his way!!) thank you
David.
The 8" double wheels work very well in our yard which is scraggly grass on sand. I think it would work on hard to medium-packed sand. For soft sand you might want to add a third or even fourth wheel on each axle.
I am working on a different arrangement that attaches to the rudder gudgeons instead of being strapped on. I will post something on that soon.
