I have a nav system gyro from that AN2. Liberated it with a saw from the wooden bulkhead aft of the cockpit.

One of those Russian biplanes is featured in the recent Indiana Jones movie with Pan American Grace Airways livery. Silly of course because Panagra didn't fly Soviet biplanes! But it looks the part and that's what they were going for.

I remember copping some shade under the Antonov next to it.

I restrain a comment on the Ltc Smith... I'll say this tho...Bet he thinks twice the next time he accuses the White Falcons of looting.. He came close to meeting a medical retirement at the hands of MJ that day at the Embassy.

Note the biplane. That is a Cuban recon acft. Marines, under LTC Smith, took Pearles initially as well as Cariacou. 2-505 relieved them. I did the transfer with LTC Smith (a real USMC hero in Tet/Hue) on Cariacou. His CSM found 4 cold Heinekins and we did the switch on the porch. Joint ops at their finest!
