That is the story I have heard also for many years.

I think in Col. Johnson's book Night Stalkers this is the craft with the crew that was shot up badly and the engines were out of control. The turbine had to be flooded with sea water to shut them down so the crew could be extracted. I don't think they ever give the crews name
In this original DOD photo the comments state that this helicopter had engine difficulties upon landing and this fire crew responded. I also think it unlikely that they would wash down a blackhawk with sea water with an M60 door gun still mounted and hanging in the spray. From the DOD:
"Flight deck crewmen hose down a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter upon its landing aboard the amphibious assault ship USS GUAM (LPH 9) during Operation URGENT FURY. The helicopter's engine was hit by anti-aircraft fire on the island of Grenada." Photographer's Name: JO1 Sundberg Date Shot: 10/25/1983

This looks like a wash job abroad ship. The blackhawks the Deltas had (from 101st Airborne) were badly damaged...... and you will notice that this one looks fine.
