Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is California's largest state park containing roughly 600,000 acres of diverse desert landscape. It is the second largest state park in the continental United States. The park includes 500 miles of dirt roads, 12 wilderness areas and 110 miles of hiking trails.

The park is named after the Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and the Spanish word Borrego, meaning bighorn sheep. The park features washes, wildflowers, palm groves, cacti, Ocotillo and many beautiful vistas. Wildlife within the park include Golden Eagles, Roadrunners, Kit Foxes, Mule Deer Bighorn Sheep, Desert Iguanas, lizards, Chuckwallas and the Red Diamond Rattlesnake.
