wounded hummingbird - brenda
by

Note red spider mite on her neck. She was hiding in a cedar just above my head. I've adjusted this shot for saturation.

Thanks to you all. I did adjust saturation upward when I PP'd this one, but I can try some more. It was very shady among the branches although there was nice sunlight all around.

I do tend to prefer a softer look with the colors, I think. But still, my shots have to grab the viewer, so I'll keep working away at them until I strike a good balance.

Brenda, your pictures are fine and I like them, but I noticed every one is with so little contrast and saturation. It could be, you do this on purpose, or your monitor need calibration. I prefer natural colors.
It is not a critic. Consider this as a help. I'll be glad to see more punch in your pictures. Try to open some of your pictures on another (calibrated) monitor. You should see the different look. IMHO. I would like opinions from others. Maybe My "IMHO" is not accurate.

Awww poor little bird. They are so tiny. If you've ever held one in your hand they are near weighless. It's no wonder they seem to float on the air. I hope she just bruised it and didn't break it. What a tiny little angel.

this is a greart shot brenda, I don't think I have ever seen a Humming bird sit except when eating.
have you tried a little contrast adjustment on this? On my comuter it looks a little washed out, but it could just be my eyes

how long did dhe sit there?
