The Giant's Cat Sleeps, Alistair

Montage of two photos, and some pp. Originals in originals gallery. You might recognise the boots from the last challenge, though they're getting a bit manky now. The boots were lit with a diffused flash above and a warm-gel'd flash from the side if anyone is remotely interested.

No cats were harmed during the production of this photo ;)

(although shortly afterwards Sox did bring in a very live and cross young rat from the barn behind us as some kind of payback(

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great PP skills and idea and an excellent picture as a result.

Thanks for telling about your lighting, that was the first thought running through my head when I opened up this image, so, yeah - I was remotely interested. I like this shot, I would have like maybe some fill light inside the shoe to show the cat a bit more clearer, but I don't profess to have too aristic an eye - so I don't know much, like the shot anyhow.

Thanks for the comments. I do need to point out in case anybody is uncertain, that the cat isn't *really* in the boot... he's much too big ;)

Looks so protected - the shoes look so at home (glad you are getting along in your "new" place). The blue light works well - with the orangee yellow light coming in from the bottom left.

I agree with Shirley: the combination of cool light and warm light improves greatly this wonderful composition.
You lied when you said that no cat is harmed while the production of the photo: it's obvious that your model is absolutely stressed :oD enika

What a happy cat, she has her own cozy place to play. I think Milo might get his head in there and that's about it. The lighting is really nice. I like the combination of cool and warm light. I really like this very much. Looks like a great print for a study or office.
