It's not pollution, it was just a humid airmass I think. It is exaggerated by the telephoto and looking towards the sun.

In my childhood these hazes came down from the midlands where coal burning and steel making heavily polluted the air. They gave the landscape an ethereal quality that I have never quite seen in North America. Our smogs have a brown photochemical quality that just doesn't cut it when it comes to atmospherics. I thought that most of the British haze had disappeared with the end of domestic coal burning. It is good(?) to see that not everything has changed!
