Shirley, this picture was taken in Egypt, close to Bahariya. You are right about the temperature: very, very high. One day I will visit the USA. I want to visit all those beautiful national parks.
I've never seen a desert, one of these days I might. I would have to go in the coldest time of the year, just looking at this makes me hot. :o)) Where was this taken? You seem to have traveled so many neat places. I wonder when you'll come visit the states!

The outcrop reminds me of a headland that ought to be surrounded by sea - but is high and dry instead. What a stark and lonely place! Still, it has its own harsh beauty. The light and textures are wonderful.
