I like the lighting here... to a point. I think I'd prefer more (or less) light on the shadow side... but maybe it's just my monitor? Cute critter :)

Sorry Shirley, those were the Asian imports you had to deal with.http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef416.asp Native LBs don't overwinter en mass.

That's fine, hey...does he have that nice 'new car' smell now too? lol ;o)

Yikes - I guess I really didn't like that previous version - sorry about the double posting.

I didn't like the crop, angle, or crud (dust, dead skin cells, etc) on the beetle in the other picture, so I've replaced it with this one. A little cleaning up on his shell, and he looks good as new.

You are both welcome to come to Minnesota where the bugs still roam! :o) Our ladybugs are most commonly orange with black spots and a couple of years ago in the fall, I went to a Biff (a portable outhouse used in parks), and there were lady bugs so thick on it that I had to wiggle and wiggle while brushing the lady bugs out of my way. LOL

It is true. When I was a kid there was a lot of bugs any kind all around. Now if I want to get some interesting macro I have to search for them. Real safari.
Clever take on theme.
