Bill I like most of you lighthouse shots and this challenge seems suited to "your" particular favorite subject.
Guest 14-Apr-2008 04:20
oh yes, just the perfect subject for this challenge. It's pretty red, indeed.

Bill, as BJ said, this is postcard perfect. I commented in your original thread, but enjoyed so much, I had to look again.

This is a beautiful scene and would make a great postcard. It's the kind of place I'd love to visit. The lighthouse draws my eye with its jaunty carmine presence. And all those pelicans! We don't have them here.

Carlo,
There's 7 Pelicans! ;-)

Bill, I saw this in one of the threads. I like how the lighthouse sticks out like a sorethumb which is what it was meant to do. BTW, I can see 5 pelicans. Very nice.

I think this one is pretty nice as it is.. It is an interesting scene and the red lighthouse provides interest enough. Nice.

I too think crop can help to get even better picture.

Just a hint of red in this shot at the bottom of the boat. Oh, and that lighthouse in the distance :)

How often do they re-paint that lighthouse to keep its color so even?
ArtP05-Apr-2008 14:09
Bill, what do you think of a crop just above that center left tree, and maybe a little off the right side? Simplifying to just the lighthouse, one clump of trees and the sky gives a totally different image...

Thanks Shirley.
This shot actually has 7 pelicans. The dock owner is a fisherman and these birds are awaiting their supper.
With additional posts I'll get a bit more creative.

I'm glad you entered this red light house. It really draws attention with its red paint. Hey, look there is a pelican sitting on top of one of the posts! Oops make that several pelicans! Now that is funny to see to this land locked lady.
