Not really that much of energy expended. It is an 30 years or so, old LES HOWIS (UK) bow. I used it rarely and storage was not proper. I decided to go shooting, stringed it and short puled the string few times. It just cracks.

Thank you all for kind words. Marc, yes contrast was pushed but not as much as you see here. I have noticed when I uploading pictures some of them are brighter and some are darker than original, and some even get sort of banding after uploading.

A very graphic, strong image, Miro. The potential energy of a drawn bowstring was unleashed (unfortunately!) on the bow itself. I like the diagonal composition very much.
