after the fire I

just back after 6 days on the high plains about 100 miles north of Melbourne.

These are snow gums after being scorched by bushfires 2 years ago. I found them eerily beautiful

Looks like the dead trees have arms and hands that are creeping towards you.

Shirley has it right about being a fantasy type picture. any kind of story could come out of this. K

Shirley, thanks, for articulating My thoughts. This is exactly what I saw and thought when I opened it big. I think picture has an unusual look, not creepy. I like it.

The first thing I saw was a pair of eyes in a crab like face looking at me with gnarly branches for hair and two limbs reaching for the huge rock to throw at you! It has such a feel of a fantasy novel. Pretty cool Adrian!

These remind me of a scene from a movie where the hero gets impossibly lost in the tangled forest, but I don't remember the name of it.
There is a strange beauty, almost primeval - the lighting is great too.

Eerie landscape. Very nice light on the branch pattern. Is this the seasonal summer fires in Australia?
