The title speaks so clearly here. We all try to reach beyond ourselves, especially during a season when faith and hope combine to offer us some sort of consolation amid the chaos of the world. The moon illumines more, I think, than the mere sky. Your shot incorporates much of our mortal longing for grace and beauty untouched by grief.

At first glance, almost a 3d view. I agree that a moonshot by itself I find boring but mixed with some earthly views make for an interesting view.

Thanks Colin, Shirley and Alistair for the comments.

I'll try to remove the bottom center to see how it looks.

I find moon shots of just the moon boring, I love moon shots when they are combined with something else, I think this has worked really well. They are hard to get as its so rare to get a clear enough evening to catch the moon rise.
If it was mine I would be tempted to clone out the little bits of branch bottom center, I think it would give a cleaner dynamic to the image.

Now I know time is flying, seems like last week there was a full moon and look, it is nearly full again! I like the framing also, it gives a sense of the far away. Great title you chose for your photo too.

There's something about a moonlit night. I like how you've used the oof foreground to frame the moon. Alistair
