open orchid - brent

Well the orchid bud opened up! I moved the bud over to the originals gallery.

There is a 300 watt light left back
100 watt fluorescent back right
chandelier above and a bit right

I hand blended 3 pictures to get the extra depth of focus...

I have been working a bit extra at y wife's for Thanksgiving rush, but I am hoping to get one daylight shot before it withers...

Great one Brent ! I preferred the first one, though, the composition was much more dynamic. Great flower !

Just wonderful, the bud was great, so is this. Its just glowing and 3D and such a good job with the various focus points. I do agree the crop is a bit too tight when viewed here, but in a frame with a matt that would not be an issue.

I'm glad to see it bloomed and yes it is a hairy little thing! The lighting is wonderful Brent. Like the setting sun is shinning on it. You could test Stefan's theory by putting a black border around it to see how it would look? The Orchid is just gorgeous!

The image is great; don't misunderstand me on that. I love it! And the lighting is superb. I just wish there was a little more space around it to give both it and me some room to breathe. It's a small wish.

Hey Stefan, a lot to be said for the understated as well as the over the top. I can't believe how hairy these flowers are! Perhaps I will see if I can get a bit of time to take a more subdued natural light shot (or put the bud back :-)

This probably sounds weird, but I liked the bud better. In this one, the flower somehow overwhelms the frame. Or maybe I'm just too tired. It certainly IS a beautiful image of the flower!
