Thanks for the comments, Colin and Marc. I do have other images at faster shutter speeds: same composition. I just happen to think the pond surface looks kind of weird, more like cellophane than water. Experiments went awry! Bao

Well, I think this is a very nice image as it is, the composition is good and the balance of lighting just ruight but sort of agree with Marc. I'd love this location to be near me and would be there a lot experimenting with different framing, focal lengths, shutter speeds, different times of day/nigh, people in shot. I wonder if they would turn off the fountain for an hour or so if you asked nicely...

Oh come on ! Put the cam on a tripod, use f/13 to f/16, dark frame substraction, long exposure, and report here. You should have a different but very good result on the water ! Marc

Thanks for the comment, Shirley. It is at Cypress College. I am an adjunct faculty there. The shutter speed is very low, and it made the water on the pond "plasticity". I could use faster speed through high ISO, but then it will look "normal". Maybe I am the only one who like this kind of post-modern! Bao

Looks like a very nice campus. I'm guessing you are a student there? The pond really looks nice with the lights reflecting in it.
