Very nice atmosphere and colours. Remind Me on an old postcard. Calm and pleasant twilight.

Agree with the comments about the heads, but it still being a very fine shot. The combination of different shapes, colours and lights is just superb. endika

I like the light being out on the last lamp - my imagination makes it seem like the couple are elder and they are at the end of the pier at the end of the day - enjoying every last moment of their lives together. If you decide to PP this further you might look at making the far shore a lighter dark gray than the foreground black to get separation. A beautiful shot, Colin. brent

Beautifully captured. I got a feeling of going back in time with this image, like the 60s or earlier. It has a very quieting and relaxing mood. Van Gogh's Starry Night has a disquieting mood, carzy whirling stars, a very different mood from this image.

I keep coming back to this fine photo. Excellent feel and love the exposure........
Getting the whole heads as sillouette would have been really great. Great mod.

Nope, has to stay as it is, I exposed for the shy/water so the land is pretty dark. I have a couple of shots without people, but this one works best, so I'll keep it for now. Maybe I'll go back next weekend and take another look :-)

Marc, you are right about the heads, it was one of those grabbed shots and when I took a look at home it was one of those "oh rats" moments. I'll see if there there enough scope in the raw file to make the coast a little lighter grey to get the seperation, something to do tonight!

The picture is beautiful, a great idea indeed. Well done ! My only gripe : i cannot see the silhouette of their heads as they are melted in the coast shadows... I think a wider angle could have helped in this one, but you still managed a good shot !

Beautiful shot Colin. It reminds me of what Vincent VanGough must have pictured when he painted the couple on the pier with lights like this shining. I wish I knew the name of the painting but I am sure it was Van Gough, it was in the style of his "Stary Night" painting. Anyways......I think this is beautiful Colin.
