You're always full of surprises. I think this is so nicely done (again!!). Having yourself in the shot is great. Having the stars still in the sky and the nice warm light of the street light all just comes together beautifully. Those timers on our camera's shutter can be very very useful!

it was something Galen Rowell (Outdoor Photographer) had said and showed, of sometimes putting himself in the scene gave everything a proper dimension. Not in this case - but sometimes it allows for a certain sense of humor to be shown.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I couldn't put my finger on why the light on the church didn't tally with the sky, but now the pool of light to the left of the tree is obvious.
So you composed the shot, figured out where you needed a figure, set the delay then ran over to take position... Never thought of doing that, gives me some ideas...
Anyway back to the shot, really great, full of atmosphere and is on theme in the most pleasing manner, subtle and delicate.

It me - the only model that I can get to agree to participate. Actually, it is dawn and the light on the church is from a streetlight behind the tree...

Did you hire a model or is that you.
I like the tiny-winy moon and the warm light from the setting sun
