Tiny toad under double light - acwalbur

This little toad stayed put while I took a 60 second nighttime exposure, combining HPS streetlights and a little FL-36 strobe.

Great shot and cute toad. You made it very nice in difficult conditions.

It was a very calm summer night Colin. The camera is actually resting on a tower on the sidewalk, with a small bean bag under the lens. I actually fouled the focus on the toad (I did my best in near black conditions) and had to rescue him with software focus. The strobe was fired on test about 45 seconds into the exposure from _way_ down the sidewalk.

The mix of light here is subtle, but it's there and he is one nice toad. I'm amazed how sharp everything is, it must have been a vitually windless night.

I don't think I've ever seen a single Toad in Minnesota. It must be too cold for them? He's a cute one, and polite too I guess. :o)
