I can't help but wonder if you arranged them for composition purposes. The way they are thick at the bottom and then slightly spread out near the upper part of the shot really makes it a great shot. I love all the earthy tones too. As I had mentioned, I think I would have liked them better if they were Rolly Pollie worms instead. LOL

Well, I think it shows a complete lack of commitment not getting down on the floor :-)

This reminds me of a David Attenborough show where they were filming on a huge guano pile in a bat cave, the whole thing was a squirming mass of insect life feeding off the bat poo.

From yours description, the scene, should be shot in panorama manner. Some of the visitors here will have a nightmares after seeing this (not Me).:-)
Excellent find and shot and only the concrete indulging (?) it as an urban detail.

You should let the crows in! They would have a feast!
Amazing stuff.

Charlie - actually they were all pretty clear in the original. I used the Render Lighting to darken the image at the bottom to give the feeling of millions breeding in the darkness (it did seem like there were millions). I found these at a public bathroom in a park. I could not believe how many there were - 15 feet long wall and probably 1-2 feet out the whole length. By the wall probably 2 inches deep. One time a belly shot would have worked better but I really did not have the nerve :-) - brent
