It took a moment for me to see that the dog was not a statue and that made it fun. The theme is passage and I wondered what was passing, time, or the owner's sense of reality, as he passes the time and stories of the day with his pals. That is assuming that he is in a pub.

This is funny, from the thumbnail it looked like a close-up of a toy, its not till you have a look you can see it’s life-size. Of course, it is the poodle tied up to the drunken friar’s foot that really makes the shot. From the building, I’m guessing this is somewhere in France?
