viewing the aftermath - brent

People coming to view the remains of the 35W bridge collapse

http://minnesota.publicradio.org/collections/special/2007/bridge_collapse/

I think it is part of human nature to go and view scenes of destruction. Some call it grizzly curiosity, some an achnowledgement of our impermanence, some to pay respects. So many different reasons. The stone arch bridge runs close by where the bridge collapsed - it was filled with people coming for whatever their reasons. I took quite a few pictures of people's silohettes as the sun was setting - kind of paradoxical to see them standing on a bridge to view another's collaps - of course I was up there looking just a half hour before.

Excellent Brent - and complex, your taking photographs adds another dimension to the dilemma. Me? I think that it's mostly common sympathy rather than grizzliness
best wishes

Man that is a heavy shot knowing the context. Hard to say much more. Thanks

Poignant. Nice silhouette against deep blue, which is unique. My favorite kind of stuff to look at . . . nice work Brent.

Excellent silhouette shot, and the colour of the background is very nice. It reminds me of some pictures from the books of B. Peterson... A good documentary shot.
