I also agree with Miroslav. Photography is as much about PP as taking the image in the first place. How much or how little PP depends only on what the photographer/artist wants to achieve. I like the idea and the composition. I'm not sure about the colours though....

To My eye it is more than OK. Why? Because you can judge photograph but not an artistic expresion, wich is, idea of an artist. You can like it or not. Ho can say Picaso or Meštroviæ or Daly did a bad picture for example. This is not a clasic photography, this is an expresion, and a camera & computer were only a tools. I'm sorry if I wrote something wrong (bad English). This is My opinion.

True, something a little bit more blended could help i think. The thing is, i can't really get you any advice as i'm quite bad at selcting things in photoshop, getting jagged edges and all (not that much practice in that !). But i'll keep with the sofet blend. Maybe adding a bit more gaussian blur to it ?
Honestly, this is far too much work for me : if i have to spend more than 2 minutes post-processing after developping a raw file, i fell like i'm losing my time.
I'd like to see the result you'll get though : it may change my mind.
All in all, definitely some potential there. Keep us updated will you ?

Marc, I too am not satisfied with it, but had I not posted it I would not have had any constructive comments. Please add them. I for one think the leaf is too soft and the purple BG is too hard, grainy, but I was waiting for someone to say something about it.
It is the way I learn.

I like the idea, but the rendition just doesn't do it for me. This is just a matter of personnal taste, of course. I quite like the comp in that picture too.

Charley, thank you for your nice comments on the image. The leaves were converted to layers and then to gradations of sepia. The background which is the palm of my hand as I held the leaf, was distorted with several of PSP-10 distortion protocols, I am sorry I can’t remember the one or two that I used because I experimented with several and lost track of the protocols used for the final image. BTW the green leaf is the only orginal part of this image.

I rather like this shot. Very much in fact..........very nice color balance IMO. This a gradient or you just messing with the Hugh/Saturation slider? Cool stuff and very on theme.

Hey Catman! That's why we call it a challenge eh? :o) I wouldn't have a clue how you did it! I see that the little leaf is in 3rds too so each one alone is '3'.
