Love this one Shirley! Love those rich brown hues of color and of course, the texture is what its all about here. Well done.

This one is fantastic - you really have a grip on the theme!

Pretty excellent stuff Shirley. One of my faves here.

well seen, and what a great sculptural, textured image. The flat light really suits this one Shirley, and the DOF and OOF background set it off. Thanks heaps.

PS> the lens i used for the textured face in the exhib gallery was the 50mmf2, with the 1.4 tc. 'twas only the 2nd time i'd taken it out, and it amazed me again with it's sharpness.

You all are very kind but, this tree did all of the work, I just spied it. Thank you so much for the kind remarks.

Hi Shirley!
Around My house is a forest and i like it a lot but have newer seen this amount of pilling on any tree. I can't say nothing new because posters before Me do this for Me.

I think it was the cloudy day and the fact it was really soaking wet? If you get a chance and think "its raining and I have nothing to do", see if you can find your RB tree and try it while its wet? I think that is why the coloring is so much more vivid. Oh and this was a younger tree too. This was one of the 3 trunks from the base.

aauuu..Shirley, I've struggled to photograph river birch for years! never got anything, and this one is just what I'm after! maybe southern RB's are just paler than northern ones. Mine never have this color. Katherine

"written papers that explains the history of the tree" Endika, thank you so much for those very poetic thoughts!

Incredible collection of colour, textures and shapes you have taken in this photo! These bits of bark seems to be a lot of written papers that explains the history of the tree. endika

Thanks guys! I've loved the bark on these trees but, the rain just seemed to saturate the colors and details. They're neat even in the sunshine though (gotta give these trees due credit).

It seems you made a beautiful walk. I like Wet woodland but this is even better.

Very nice Shirley, as Mark says you're right on theme.
