In an Octopus' Garden in the Shade by FrankM

I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus's garden in the shade

I'd ask my friends to come and see
An octopus's garden with me
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade

We would be warm below the storm
In our little hideaway beneath the waves
Resting our head on the sea bed
In an octopus's garden near a cave

We would sing and dance around
Because we know we can't be found
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade

We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves
(Lies beneath the ocean waves)
Oh what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they're happy and they're safe
(Happy and they're safe)

We would be so happy you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you

Pretty big Charlie - 3 kg or about 7 lbs. Probably 30 inches top of the head to the end of a tentacle.

Do you get fries with it? Yup, the old Beatles ditty to boot. Excellent entry idea.

Thanks Shirley & Brent. Sorry your try at eating octopus wasn't too good, but it shouldn't be chewy, tasteless nor salty, so I think it must have been the preparation. As for Brent trying to get all 8 legs in his mouth at once I don't know what to say. This one in the photo weighs 3 kg so it's pretty hefty. We cooked it yesterday but I haven't tried it yet...

Well, first off, this is quite the photo of an Octopus! I can't say I've ever seen a nicer one. Now, as for eating one, I tried it once, a little baby octopus. Think of it as a really chewy, salty, Juju. It was awfull, no taste at all other then salt. I think I chewed on it for 5 minutes before giving up and swallowing it.

This one in the photo looks to cute to eat!

My wife loves squid and octupus. I am trying to learn to stick 8 legs in my mouth at once (there is a part of me that rejects that :-) I think I would feel differently about canoing/ swimming, etc if they were freshwater creatures. This one is quite the good shot - so clear and ... threatening :-)
