Excellent shot ! How the hell you came up with this one, i don't know, but it sure is very evocative. A good story-telling capture !

A great & terrific shot Katherine! Unfortunately it looks like a soft nosed bullet (dumdum) - the kind that really makes a mess........

I like this a lot, Katherine.
All the elements (ground, sky, reflections, trees and columns?) forms a great abstract composition... but there is this obscene object that breaks the polite balance of the image! endika

I like the obviousness of the point of focus. It really makes everything else seem so much less is important. I bet it immediately made the street feel like a different place than before you found it. I have walked all over downtown Minneapolis and St Paul and never seen one (now empty cartridges from hunters is a different story).

Every picture tells a story don't it............The angle adds to the tension though I am not sure it needs it?
Very evocative shot.

Sinister subject, but clever use of shallow DOF and angle to make it more unsettling,

For me Katherine, it would be "find a shell, call the police". Just seeing this photo (by the way great stuff with the dof making the bullet jump out at you) makes me feel uncomfortable. I really don't like guns and guns getting used in the city only means one thing in my mind. I think I would feel better if I thought you set this one up, but something tells me you didn't.
