Thanks for the comments. I think this may be worked a bit hard but I guess I was going for big impact.

Pain, sorrow. First things I have in mind when I saw that image. The best fit for the tema of challange.

Doh! ref the link below, his street shots are in a set called 'the street', but I love all his work really, though it might be a tad theatrical for some folk. Alistair

Oh and BTW, if you like this sort of 'in there' photograph of street people, check this guys work out as well (you need to add thehttp://):

Great photo and pp Charlie. What I like is that whereas most shots like this are takne from afar, you seem to have engaged with the guy. Alistair

Yes it sure could. But, I don't know if my eyes would stay this kind looking. He has something tender in his eyes, yet they look very sad too. I don't see any anger in them and I think mine would be angry. Honestly Charlie, I don't think I would stick around to get very low. I would exit.

A very intense expression you captured here Charlie. Great PPing too, looks kind of Draganised but not, if you know what I mean.

It's terrifying, because true. Incredible portrait.
In any way, I think that is more valuable a tormented (even broken) spirit, than these of the plastic people of the preceding photo. endika

There is something in his eyes and a slight twitch in his mouth, or so it seems to me, that define the expression on his picture. A fine example of a picture where noise adds character. Really great picture.

What a matched set these 2 shots are. I was out walking last night around the U of M and there were some wackos out (one caring an anti-war sign-9:30pm and very cold, and another having a very lively conversation with himself (no visible cell phone)) and here I am with a tripod taking close up pictures of buildings and lights. Sometimes I feel like a "fringe element" :-)
