It is not a movie miniature, it is real. But have you ever seen the movie Tomb Raider? Some scenes in this movie were shot in this temple. At least, this is what some people told me. Never saw the movie myself.

I've just come back to this photo and read the comments. I truly thought this was a movie miniature for some adventure film. I couldn't imagine it was real...but real it is.

This picture was taken in the Ta Prohm temple in the region of Angkor in Cambodia. The pillars are not very tall. If I remember correctly about 1.50 meter. It was built at the end of the twelfth century by one the kings of the Khmer empire. Empires never last forever. Because of wars with other countries and economic problems people leave the area. Mother Nature reclaims its territory. And then hundreds of years later archaeologists arrive in the area, get really excited and start excavating. The area becomes very interesting for tourists and finally one of them is carrying an E-300.

Where is this? How tall are the pillars? What an amazing picture! You did a very nice joh of capturing this - esp like the tentacle of the roots going into the building. Are the people gone - or just don't care? Too cool. - brent

Amazing roots! I've seen trees growing out of mountains of rock and it always amazes me how they take root and get enough substance to stay alive. This is a great photo and such an interesting place.
