Heron on ice - brent

I don't really think this is the greatest bird picture - however it is so rare to see herons here when there is still snow on the ground. There were actually 3 in a pretty small area.

WooHoo, it's so good to see the Heron's are back! I like this shot, he looks like he is freezing!!! See how his back feathers are all puffed up, he is trying to keep warm. Or he got his by a breeze, but I like the idea that he is trying to stay warm in that icey cold water.
