Looks good to me, but then I use an LCD too - it is a good one, a Formac, but the contrast is higher than a CRT.
I briefly played with the trial Mac version of silkypix. Don't remember if there was an option to send to Photoshop in 16bit. I wouldn't want to be editing colour info with only 8 bits - though clearly it works for you.
This is a wonderful image, rich and full of expression.
Flick.
G'day Flick - thanx - hmm... nothing special at all. In this case i used silkypix to convert raw to 8bit tiff, then ps7, and channel mixer. I'm always tooling around with the sliders to get something out of an image, and have yet to get it down to the point where i know it will work for all. Also I usually use levels (manual) and curves - again just to see what may work - perhaps a hefty dip on the LHS of the s curve?. Like you, i'm on an LCD and i know it's higher contrast than many folk with good lcd's, or CRT's. I have been horrified with some of my conversions when i see them on good screens. Cheers, Adrian
