Hatcher Pass - Palmer, AK USA

My first attempt at photographing the northern lights, and I am still figuring out the E-300. I hope to do better next time. I really needed the wired cable release, as my finger was on the shutter button for the 47s, I think that caused some of the softness off the mountains.

Impressive indeed, Drew! This must have been before the updates. now with update 1.3 you get a version of mirror lockup.

Very impressive scene. I think it has a sci-fi feel, and you could imagine it to be another planet. Captured well, and I don't think it is soft enough to ruin the atmosphere. (Comment by Namenlos)

great capture Drew! this is one of the most spectacular forgrounds for the northern lights i've yet seen - you are right - 'tis a bit soft, but the impact is still huge. thanx. adrianox
