I didn't notice the feather until you guys mentioned it. Anyway the trunk of the tree was lying on the beach close to the other shot I entered and while there are a few palm trees in the area, it could also have been washed up from a neighbouring island. In any case I think the feather came afterwards. Thanks for the comments.

The feather is interesting. Palms seem to be favorite places for raptors to nest in this area, and also raccoons. I wonder if someone lost a home with this event...

The way the bark rips in made me think of the celery I eat everyday. I love the feathered tears. Hummmm, speaking of feathers, it makes you wonder if that feather came down with the tree or was dropped off at a later date. From the looks of it, it's been there for quite some time. Very interesting shot Barry. Lots to explore in this photo.
