This is a panorama of a valley in The Snowy Mountains. At the horizon on left hand side of the image is Mt. Kosciuszko, which at a height of 2,228 metres (7,310 ft) above sea level, is the highest mountain in Australia. This area is covered in snow during the winter with the snow melt providing water for the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme.
The left water tributary is the source of the iconic Snowy River which travels 352 kilometres southwards through inaccessible country eventually reaching the sea in the Snowy Inlet, at Marlo, near Orbost, Victoria. Which is where I live.
Unfortunately due to the size limitations the image is a bit small for proper viewing.
